Act IV.

Benjamin’s Vision

Proud of his invention (The Turk), Benjamin’s dream is to ultimately create a hyper-intelligent, half-man-half-machine monster. He was overheard saying “we should move away from whatever we are fixedly contemplating. We would like to stay, awaken the dead, and make whole what has been smashed. But a storm is blowing from Paradise; we would have got caught in our limited bodies with such violence that we can no longer bear. The storm irresistibly propels us into the future, to which our back is currently turned, while the pile of debris before us grows ever-skyward. This storm we call progress.”
